Nepal-Russia Journalists Sign MoU for Professional Exchange

Kathmandu. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Journalists for Justice Nepal (JJN) and the Russian Union of Journalists (RUJ) with the aim of enhancing cooperation, experience exchange and professional capacity building between Nepali and Russian journalists.

RUJ President Vladimir Solovyev and JJN President Tikaram Khadka signed the memorandum of understanding at a program organized in the Russian capital Moscow on September 23.

After signing the memorandum of understanding, RUJ President Solovyov said that the cooperation between the two organizations will greatly contribute to cooperation and exchange of experience between Nepali and Russian journalists as well as enhancing the professional capacity of journalists.

JJN Chairman Khadka also said that the cooperation between the two organizations aims to develop the professional skills and capacity of journalists, facilitate seminars and bilateral visits, and promote cooperation in various fields of journalism. According to the memorandum, delegation exchange, professional experience and journalism practices will be exchanged between journalists from Nepal and Russia and representatives of both organizations.

Similarly, the agreement also includes the organization of press tours, joint seminars and press conferences, and mutual participation in various meetings, programs and forums. The agreement also includes arrangements for conducting training and professional development programs to enhance the professional capacity of journalists.

In addition, the issue of encouraging cooperation and exchange between universities and educational institutions that teach journalism has also been prioritized.

According to JJN, the Russian Embassy in Kathmandu had made the necessary coordination to establish an understanding between the two institutions.

JJN has expressed gratitude to the Russian Embassy for the necessary coordination and support for the signing of the agreement.
